This is the first time I've played since I was 10!

Deus Ex remains one of the most influential RPGs of my lifetime, it's fun comes from a DIY approach to its gameplay, as well as a great story. The whole game is about a conspiracy and one man caught in the thick of it! It's got some '1984' vibes in that it can be a little preachy sometimes (but I can't say how seriously the game takes itself). I realize that even to this day, a lot of games have modeled themselves after Deus Ex, from progression to player choice, I would say it's up there with Half Life in its influence. Even in 2024 the gameplay still holds up, albeit it its sequels did it a lot better. It seemed like in creating augmentations for your characters to use the developers were starting to get... desperate. Only a 2-3 of them did I use throughout the game. If you can get past some clunky controls and physics then you'll do great.
