Found this video. Though it may help explain some of the new features available.

For those who don't like the new store front, this user has found/created a guide for a work around:

Looks like a developer released some information on their sales figures, before and after the new store. The article contains some nice statistics on sales and some of the traffic the store is generating.

The thread was unpinned as it was only pinned temporarily. It has almost been a month since the release of the new Store and the creation of this thread. It was my decision to unpin it, just as it was my decision to make it and pin it in the first place.

I hope many have found it informative and a good outlet for discussing the new Store.

If you want to keep this thread up, feel free to keep discussing.

Have fun!

Hey guys, in case any of the long-time protesters still check this thread now and then, I just wanted to let you know that it is now possible to use client skins to change the web-based elements of Steam (such as the store, the forums, etc) and therefore get rid of the curators, recommendations, queue, the blue overdose and so on even within the client.

I think I made a vague promise in this thread to convert my browser skins to client skins should that ever become possible.

Here's a preview of one:

Posted a guide on applying these client skins (or merging 'em with ones you already have):

Much kudos to a kind Steam user (who prefers not to be named) for bringing this method to my attention.

Steam is rolling out a whole new update that changes a good portion of how the forums/hubs look as well as the stores UI and look.

I love it

You love buggy, misaligned web page elements?

I have the same problem but only when browsing the game forums. Is this a bug?
Nino_Chaosdrache Sep 12, 2014 @ 2:54pm
I have the same and I hate. It's pretty umconfortable to scroll down the entire screen to switch into an other sub- forum instead of just clicking it on the right side. The old UI was much better.
Abribus Sep 12, 2014 @ 2:58pm
It's a steam browser related bug since when you visit the same page with a standard browser (Firefox, Chrome ...) the web page appears as usual.

New store page

Good or bad? I personally hate it to no end.

Main reason?

This : Changed ‘New Releases’ to ‘Popular New Releases’ to filter out less popular titles and provide a more functional release list.

apparently valve has decided I’m to unintelligent to decide for myself what games I want. How is limiting what games I see that have been added good? This will basically crush certain Indie Devs into the ground...

EDIT: to those who are also angered by this, turns out if you scroll to the bottom there is a button that lets you view ALL new releases.

The Steam Store
I've been on these off topic forums too much, and now the store has changed beyond recognition. What do you think of it?
Discussions_Acc Sep 22, 2014 @ 4:14pm
Now the people who demanded customization go quiet and the people who hate change in general start complaining.

As usual. The noise is the same, only the noisemakers changed.
