Enderal is an incredible achievement and I consider it to be one of the best RPGs I have ever played.
I especially want to highlight the story of the main quest which gets very dark as it progresses and deals with some heavy topics.
The main theme I got from it is how well intentioned people who might even think of themselves as heroes can lead to disastrous outcomes.

Enderal is fully voice acted. I can only speak for the German voice acting which I think is also very good. Especially for a free mod. Here and there are a few minor characters where the acting is a bit rough but all the important NPCs are well done.

The gameplay is naturally similar to Skyrim but it mixes up some systems.
Map based fast traveling for example is disabled. You have to either use the Myrad towers or teleport scrolls. I really liked this as it makes the game more immersive and leads to more exploration.
Leveling uses experience points and you have to find training books to increase your skills. This is a major gold sink, in Enderal you wont be swimming in gold on day three of your adventure.
Difficulty is area based and enemies do not scale.

The only negative thing I can say is that the game crashes quite often. I recommend putting Enderal on a fast NVME drive, that way load times are quick.
