Besides Steam and gaming I have other hobbies like activities with my family/friends, taking care of my cat, trips to the nature, reading, listening to music or watching movies/series. Furthermore I like to chat with my Steam friends. It's a pity that in the SteamMobile App the chat has been removed and now you have to download it  separately- i hope they merge both apps again. I welcome new friend requests, but I don't accept every one. We should have something in common and it would be nice if my infobox would be noted.

⠀ I remove friends who...

...regularly spam my activity feed (several times a day and over a longer period of time)
...have a VAC or trade ban
...cheat themselves achievements
...post comments under my profile that I don't like (see infobox)
...are toxic in any way
...have not been online for a very long time (over 100 days)
...ignore my messages several weeks although they are demonstrably online

- I like to collect pretty items (badges/ emoticons/ backgrounds)
- My inventory is usually set to private, because I am a collector , not a professional trader
- I do not own any CSGO or TF2 items!
- People who add me just so they can beg for stuff will be blocked⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Some things that bother me about Steam

Steam Market :

There seem to be anti-social profiteers on this platform who regularly buy up rare items, especially foil cards from games at a low price and then put them back up for sale at ten times the price or even more- some of them even use automation software (sniping bots) to do this. This behavior is unfair to honest buyers who don't have that much money and wait a long time for a favorable offer of their favorite items. An excerpt from the Steam TOS: "You may not use cheats, automation software (bots), mods, hacks, or any other unauthorized third-party software, to modify or automate any Subscription Marketplace process." Community trading bots are apparently allowed, and I have no problem with those, as they don't manipulate market prices. The market exploitation sadly pays off for some profiteers, because there are a few people with a lot of money who are willing to pay any price for some virtual items. The botters gain an unfair competitive advantage, because their programs can automatically sell a huge amount of items simultaneously (mostly trading cards) and adjust prices for offers and bids every few minutes including automatic mobile confirmation, whereas the normal user first has to laboriously confirm each offer by hand in the buggy and laggy mobile authenticator app. The profiteer can comfortably leave the house, because his program does the job for him in his absence while the normal user must be present to place bids/ offers. This is not a secret and you can also google it.

A steam moderator once replied on this topic: "Many accounts are disabled every day, many more are made... the bots have fairly sophisticated tools which albeit simplistic in nature make it so that it's not something you can effectively block...". Given these circumstances and since the number of bot accounts will probably increase in the future, it would be a logical and desirable step to finally shut down the steam market completely and focus entirely on the points shop, to ensure the community satisfaction and not just Valve's profit. However, it would then be necessary to make points shop items tradable so that you don't have to buy every game because of an emoticon.

Games- Quality Control

Since Steam Direct's debut in June 2017, everything is allowed on this platform without significant prior review (there is no quality control at all anymore), except to remove "... things we think are illegal, or just trolling..." . The abolition of "Greenlight" has led to Steam being flooded with "asset flips" and "shovelware", while well-made, sincere indie games get lost in the crowd. Quality control isn't only about removing "illegal" games (of which there are virtually none), it's also about making sure people know you're selling quality products, because quality is more important to the gaming community than quantity! They should reintroduce Greenlight or something similar, so games are thoroughly evaluated BEFORE release. All asset flips/shovelware/"joke" games (of which there are thousands) already released should be removed to ensure community satisfaction and safeguard the seriousness of this platform, for the benefit of gamers, not just Valve's profit.

Awards :

I hope that someday, through a future update, we will be able to select certain awards that we like most for our profile/showcase without being forced to display all of them; so far, unfortunately, we can't and that's why many users hide their awards, even if they would like to display some of them.

Profile Comments :

I don't like impersonal, unimaginative and/or hundredfold copied comments under my profile that don't even contain my name. This includes emoticon-/ and ascii art, comments with only one emoticon or spam (more than two postings in a row). I will delete these things because personal, individual comments are more valuable for me.

Adult Games/ Points Shop :

It would be my wish that an age verification for adult games is introduced, so that Germany and other countries are not further excluded from buying them. At least the points shop items for adult games should be available for everyone and not "hidden", i.e. blocked, for some countries.

Achievements :

I don't collect achievements anymore, because I realized that it's pointless, because many players use various cheat programs to give themselves achievements at the push of a button. This changes the stats of a game and cheaters can issue rare achievements that they didn't actually earn. This circumstance is unfair to honest players who are proud of every achievement. Only multiplayer games have the so-called VAC protection (Valve Anti-Cheat), unfortunately this does not apply to single player games. As long as Steam doesn't do anything about it, the whole achievement system doesn't make sense to me anymore.
