Should i only installed just the first one or Forged Alliance?

If you want to play the campaign, the first one. If you want multiplayer, only FA.

You need both installed to play all the factions in FA, IIRC. (In multiplayer)

If your only buying one, get FA. But if you can afford both get em both. The first one sets the stage for the story of the game and teaches you the basics of what comes next in FA. FA adds features and units to the game and the UI is polished up more nicely. Plus thier is the addition of a fourth faction in FA which makes the campaign story more interesting. Multiplayer is also better in FA because tier three units are more unique to the factions.
