Can i play SC : FA online with othre people or only LAN

Hello i want to buy supreme commander fa. Before that i have some questions. Can i play online with other people (in the original not forever) , because i have a version from a torrent and i have only lan in multiplayer. Thank you !

If you have a legit cd key, yes; get forge alliance forever (a site where supcom and forge alliance players gather) and see you can join the community.

You can play with matchmaking via the Steam install. At least me and my friends can. I see several games an hour though I typically just hold friends-only bot-bashes.
