Do you have SKSE installed? That wouldn't be shown in the Data Files screen, but something there might have been messed up after Steam update.

do u have an anti virus program?

Most likely mod conflict [ie, the save files are crashing because of the missing mods]
You can't just "remove" mods from an existing save file, as it can cause problems [considering that save-file is dependent on that mod information].

You need to test your setup with a NEW character [aka starting over with a new save file]; and remove as many mods as possible. If it resolves itself, then it was a mod conflict or a corrupt save-file.

ALso, Skyrim was updated many months ago. If a SKyrim update did "mess up" your system, then again it is a mod conflicting with the update.

These are the consequences of using mods; I know it sucks but it is the price we pay if we decide to use mods. To alleviate this stress, many play SKyrim in the unmodded form and still have fun.

Yep, then you do have it there. You might try to download again use the installer program to ensure that all files are functional after Steam update.

Edit: And remember to launch your game from SKSE's Skryim launcher, instead of the default launcher.

Unfortunately SKSE didn't have unsinstaller the last time I used it. I am unsure if there is one now. I removed it manually and that was quite a chore, because there were files in the Data folder as well. After that I ran CCleaner and verfied the game files from Steam.

Let's not rush it. There might be another solution for your problem.

It would be wise to download an SKSE archive file from http://skse.silverlock.org/ and compare what is inside of it against what you have inside of your installation folder. That way there shouldn't be any remnant SKSE files, or accidentially deleted game files.

I don't think it is a virus try to start a new game and see what happens. Delete all your saves off.

I had the same problem as I tried to put SKSE on at level 57 because I got fustrated with the legendary system. The legendary system was not well thought through in my opinion.

I like the uncapper better. You really only have to be so high after that it is just crazy. I do not think I will ever make a skill legendary again. But that is my opinion.

do you have any mods that are enabled that may have a virus or even mods you have unselected that need to be there. id recoment downloading nexus mod manager just in case
ShocksVR #AirLink 17 Thg08, 2013 @ 12:10pm
Sounds like you may have totally screwed your SKyrim install [the fact that you had installed SKSE and did not know, shows you may have installed some mods incorrectly or may have only partially uninstalled others].

You may need to totally nuke your SKyrim install directory [ie delete it] and allow STEAM to completely download SKyrim again.

Try this, Go to LIBRARY in Steam, find The Elder Scrolls: V Skyrim, right click and go to properties, go to LOCAL FILES and click delete local game content. This will uninstall all of the original Skyrim files, but it will NOT delete your saves. Then go to your Skyrim folder, usually found "C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/". Then delete that entire Skyrim folder. Then reinstall Skyrim. Skyrim should be back to normal and hopefully it should run again. This will remove all mods that you had installed. worked for me and then I was just careful with what mods I installed.

Let's hope for the best.

i don't think it's a virus because a virus would most likely attack your steam account not an individual game. A possible way to check if its a corrupted save file is downloading your most recent save file to a flashdrive (just the save file) and inserting it in the save file section on a different computer logged into your steam account.
