Least favourite goes to the catacombs. Maybe personal preference but not a fan of the dark dull geometry and maze-like structure.
I particularly enjoyed the superfreighter/shipyard simply because it was so much fun to navigate. Just getting to the ship alone was fun, there was plenty of exploration there, and then you got to the actual ship. Very well monitored but not frustratingly so, layout is complex but easy to navigate, the way you go about completing your objectives is fun, it's great all around.
I ALMOST felt like the Vandenberg Complex was my favorite. Simply because of how many memorable moments it had throughout the whole thing, even though the layout wasn't quite the best. I just feel like it could've been a lot better, though. It didn't particularly feel like a complex, especially in comparison to the other missions. If it was longer, and had a bit more exploration put into it, then it would easily be my favorite.
There were two reasons I didn't like the Cathedral: 1-It was the only level that I actually got lost in. It has two identical staircases, and all of the walls use the same, grey-ish beige texture, with similar room appearances. It felt very disorientating. 2- The Gunther "fight" felt very anticlimactic. Not only does the game just give you his killphrase, even if you didn't find it out when you were escaping UNATCO (which I really feel like players should have to do if they want that info), but it felt more like a footnote than anything else. I feel like there should've been a much shorter mission more devoted to building up the Gunther fight.
I really don't like Area 51, but the game in general around/after Vandenberg. Stops being a cRPG and just stays a shooter. I often end up getting bored and stop playing after Pasadena—I think the last time I actually saw the end credits was nearly a decade ago.
