What is GLADoS testing for?
Of what use are these tests anyway? What does she learn from them?

Aperture Science is testing their products. GLaDOS just does it for fun ever since she was activated.

Infinite kinetic energy. Stick a portal on the ceiling and floor, a turbine in the middle and let the water flow.

All you would have to do is have an airtight chamber.

One portal on the moon, walk into the chamber, close airtight door, portal on the wall.

The main reason why GLaDOS is obsessed with testing is they built a Need to test into the Disk Operatating System. She can't help but test... It's a need. That and the device (portal gun) was never proven safe, only the portals were.

I assume that she's testing human psychology, and each mechanic as it gets added (like turrets and weighted cubes).

she is testing for how a human mind solves problems in an attemp to copy it and so she does in Portal 2 where robots are to do harder tasks and the people are kept in pickle jars wired to Glados. It is all to weird for you to handle but is Area 51 stuff. Half Life 2 is the parallel sequal.
