10/30 Patch - Disable Driver Check

​Hey all,

We've been investigating issues pertaining to yesterday's latest patch and driver update. If you started experiencing issues with the October 30 Wolfenstein II PC patch and were forced to update your GPU drivers, you can use the following workaround to bypass the driver check after reinstalling the previous drivers that you were able to run the game on:

Highlight game in Library -> right-click "Properties" -> click "Set Launch Options" - enter +r_disableDriverVersionCheck 1"



We'll continue to investigate and let you know once we have an update. Thanks!​

Thanks for that Jason - I bought on release and still have been unable to play (I'll try sending a DxDiag when off work). I'm on a Gigabyte laptop with an i7 and a GTX970M. From what I've seen, other people seem to have a similar issue with the same graphics chip.

I haven't updated yet, but will try later.

Out of interest, does the +r_renderAPI 0 command line parameter actually work with this and disable Vulkan, if that's the issue?

I did have this to report, BUT, the graphics quality no where near as good as the original release day 27th-30th, until we got the patch:

For some reason, while I have experienced the exact same problems, I got it working (I think not as graphically nice as 27th-31st Oct before the 10/30 patch was installed) by installing the 388.13 drivers. At first it didn't work. I ran it through GeForce Experience and ran at 'optimized settings' for performance. It is smooth again at HD (1920x1080) but I don't think as smooth as was the original release, which I would much prefer to play and have the option of using.
Now I also downloaded the Windows 10 1709 update, BUT haven't installed it yet (resart PC). So I cannot explain what I did. Because it was very, very choppy and laggy even at 1300x768. I did go into CDU cores and checked them off. Played. As usual. Then checked them back on again. I did get a crash dump could not write message when I exited, I think. And anti-aliasing is now off. So graphics are not as good. I was running 383 drivers and they worked just like yours ko.
So I am not sure if a hotfix has been released in the last few hours or not but for some reason which I cannot explain it worked fine. And I started the game again after finished just to make sure of the smooth run, and it repeated. A bit happier with that. But would like the option to revert to the original and not have to accept updates.

The maximum playable resolution for me now is 1920X1080.
The option for 4K is nowhere to be found.
Please help....

Not resolved as part of this patch but we're definitely aware and working on resolving the issue. Thanks!

You might as well advise people to revert to the 388.00 nvidia drivers if they have issues with 388.13 (for which there are many reports of problems both on nvidia geforce forums and guru3d)

When are the low res weapon and face textures going to be addressed. This has to be a bug right?

I finally can run on the drivers I was using on the release 27th Oct. Back to normal. Thank you.

Still now working for me, i get stuck in the first screen that comes up when starting game. What a waste of money..

The update , said it had downloaded , now it is constantly stuck on Updating , the download was only 86mb , on my SSD drive , normally the update would of completed long ago , already taking over 20 minutes for the program to update after download
