So new players will have to complete it, and we'll see less things like 'auto attacking creeps' and 'no regen recipe first crystalis rush' in the future. Hopefully.
My first impression is that it will improve the overall experience for people, noobs included and especially for noobs. I actually wish there was something like that with basic metagame aspects when I started playing, would have been a smoother start.

Omg, I'm a new user.
Just clicked by mistake "New user" at start...
And now I have to pass this stupid tutorial...
Uninstalled the game becase I'm unable to skip this ♥♥♥♥.

For actual new players, it may be helpful, many games have a tutorial. Also, killing a creep while it's already half dead, crying on the ground, is a good learning experience.

Seriously its very useful for new players on only 10 minutes, u should play it.

haha so you people get forced to do it? A tutorial should be always free to choose

Not in a game like this. You get to play 1 tutorial and after that you will never be bothered by it again.

The game is trying to force teach players to get better so we can have better matches. Nothing wrong with that.

Now, because of this stupid introduction, I can't play with my friends !
I was invited by my friends to play with them. BUT I can't see the lobby !
Only this stupid map with one totem...
IMHO Game - designers must be punished for that solution ...
BAKA 2013 年 3 月 1 日 下午 3:35
Well I don't know how few matches one must have played in order to get a forced tutorial Zefar but you don't get better games with a 10min tutorial. As you might know a total noob needs at least 50 games in my opinion in order to simply gasp whats going on

I don't understand how people can sit here and complain longer than the actual length of the tutorial.

That is the biggest mistake I have seen lately in a video game, how can a company like Valve do this is beyond me. I got a friend I used to play another MOBA with into the game, only to find me having to wait for him (after refusing to believe it can't be skipped) and him playing a tutorial he found incredibly annoying. That was a big hit in my opinion of Dota 2 and the decision making capability of Valve. Just ridiculous.

The point of not making it not-skippable is so even the stubborn new players that think they know what they are doing learn about the game and not spoil everyone else's experience. It's not like the tutorial's length is at all ridiculous.

I like this a lot, this will make it a little more annoying to smurfs and since the tutorial is really small and interesting it is really good to introduce new players. Most of the dota 1 players are already on dota 2 so the people that actually know how to play will never be forced to do this. I think the only people that will be damaged by this mechanic are the smurfs.
prngls 2013 年 3 月 1 日 下午 5:06
wait there's a tutorial mode now?

mm time to make another smurf maybe

My roommate wanted me to teach him. I gifted him a copy of DOTA 2 I had.
He opened it, and got the forced tutorial instead. After much head-scratching, since he'd seen me playing DOTA 2 on my PC and didn't even recognize the screen he started with vs. mine, on my advice he started and completed the tutorial quest.

At the end of the tutorial, the game said he "pwned the boss" blah blah, and he was presented with a "Play vs. Bots" or "Send us Feedback" dialog box choice. He selected "Play vs. Bots". The game dumped him back to the screen with the tutorial quest.

My roommate quit the game and it gave him the tutorial screen again. He quit the game in frustration and says he wants to play something else. He now also believes I gifted him a shiesty trial copy of DOTA 2 and not the gift copy I actually sent.

So yeah, forced tutorial bad. Choice good.

I'd like a patch that includes a "skip tutorial" button on the tutorial screen. All I wanted to do was to introduce a new player against bots and show him the ropes, and because of the forced tutorial and forced replay, he doesn't want to play at all.

Please, Valve. I get this game is complex, but if that's the case, isn't it better to have an actual person show a noob, than a tutorial? I can do that. Just include a 'skip' button so we both can play the game together vs. bots (which is what we wanted to do in the first place).
