Racism against meepo

Come on man, is it because he was a kobold in Dota 1?
Everytime im picking meepo in pub, people start crying. By the end of the game they realise i play him correctly. I even had the best xp/gold per min(which i should ofc).
Its getting a bit annoying when i have this comment at every hero selection screen. Thinking of picking him only when im with premade friends

The goal is to ignore those people, and hope that they play correctly.

It happens to me so often where I'm a Godlike Meepo and can't push because I'd be alone at the T2 against 4 of their team ;_;

Meepo is great. Don't listen to people.

Meepo is a very strong hero. But he is EXTREMELY microintensive. 90% of pubplayers simply can't handle the micro and fail that's why people rage when someone picks meepo. In the hands of a good player he destroys face.

Imo Meepo and Invoker are currently the 2 hardest heroes to play, but if done right can totally dominate.

Anton it's a pretty sane reaction given that in my first 100 games, the team with a Meepo would ALWAYS lose.

yes but theres a huge difference here. a average or even slightly bad meepo or invoker can and will feed like mad while they will completely WRECK if they know how to play. if you compare to almost any other hero this is not the case. an average juggernaut or <insert any other average hero here> might still do fine, even if he isn't exactly great. not so with meepo. that's why players hate on people picking him. there are really only these 2 exceptions. Meepo and Invoker are unique in this case.

It's because people who pick Meepo either do really well (know how to play him with all the micro) or do really, really badly. In most cases people do very badly.

I love meepo and can micromanage alright vs bots.. haven't worked up the grapes to try him in a match VS though

Mostly because he has the worst suggested items in the game, and your average pubber will always follow default item build (maybe inserting few shadow blades in it).

Nobody wants to have the hard carry who builds support items in their game.

The default item builds are just text files you can alter to your wishes, if you know how (Google is your friend!).

@Vixori, what should be the default item build in your oppinion? Of do you have a link towards a build guide?

Considering how vlads is the most popular Meepo item, I don't think most of pub Meepos are aware of it.

Tranquils into Aghs into Blink into BoT into stacking hearts/eblades/eos depending of enemy team; optional manta/sheepstick.


Vlads, AC and Mek are good items, but not good enough for Meepo to hold threm.
