My Kingdom for a Wand help

I am currently on sticking the wand into a Magical Orc, but I can't seem to register a critical hit on him. I've waited till he start attacking me and while he was still turning. I take out my sniper rifle and shoot him in the face and can see the word Critical pop up, but the quest is still saying I didn't kill him with a critical hit.

Any chance you're playing the Mechromancer?

I had the same issue and had to respec because there's a bug with the Interspersed Outburst skill in the Little Big Trouble tree. The crits simply don't get registered and you're stuck shooting the orc in the face over and over again.

I went to Sanctuary, cleared my talents and then managed to do it on the 2nd try. Had a lot of respawns to fight but just ignored them. :D

Just shoot with a sniper directly after you insert the wand.

Nope playing as a Siren. But when shooting an enemy an acid cloud appears, so I'll have to go respec out of my dots.

Thats what I've been doing but it looks like my proc damage was getting registered as having the final hit.
