Max level on first playthrough?
Right now I am level 32 and aboot 2 bars in and just beat the game. I don't have the time nor the patience to do TVHM, but I want to experience the DLC. What is the max level I can get to and still earn xp without having to do another playthrough? Because if I cannot level up I don't see the point in playing the DLC.

Please advise,

If you don't enjoy loot grinding then why even play the game in the first place?

An alternative would be power leveling if you don't mind begging other people for help.

I played BL2 for the story, and the fun and some of the loot. But not enough to play again.I don't enjoy playing with other people and prefer to be alone.

Thank you for not answering my question though, I can see where this thread is already headed.

Aye it's one point of t he game to grind for stuff etc. (even if there's lots of dupe nowaday :l)
If you dont enjoy it well do the dlc, finish em and stop playing what can be said..

You've done the story with some buddies? it offer a different experience of the game as you mess around and do lots of silly stuff compared of playing alone where you just do quest and go kind of forward etc

But I did answer it... power leveling is the only viable way to get to 50 without starting the story over again. =|

I don't want to do silly stuff as I am OCD and anal retentive and like things the way I want them, and if I want to do a mission I don't want 3 other people being dumb and jumping around when I am trying to kill a boss.
Power leveling or editing your save
that is mostly the 2 option if you discard grinding and redoing the game

@ Aelthear, you did not. I asked what the max level I could get to in the first playthrough before i stopped earning xp without having to play again. I have looked online with no luck, and I know the max in the whole game for now is 50. I appreciate the effort though :-)

There is no max lvl, but there is max lvl the game will scale to which is 32 on normal, dlc's will scale up from lvl 32, but not much, leave hammerlock for last which is the hardest and the one that will scale higher...

You can probably get to lvl 40 on normal...
Lvl33 - 40
Is usually what level you reach after cleaning most side quest and beating the 1st end boss of base game.

Well my good sir you are missing something then.
And im not saying to play with people that will derp and do nothing while you try to kil la boss but if you take a game waaay too seriously with your friends and without having some sense of humour then well... im sorry.

Thank you very much Djisas I appreciate that. Just the answer I was looking for!! +10 praise.

Then if you start tvhm, you can lvl up to 50 and go back to kill the raid bosses from normal and complete the game...

Edit: Incidently, lvl 32 is about right to start dlcs...

Lvl 50 is the cap period (until a patch or dlc comes along to change it). You dont have to change modes to get that high and you will still earn xp up until lvl 50 BUT you will not be earning as much xp. I suggest going through Hammerlock on normal mode (since you can only activate that particular DLC after end game occurs. Then go thru the beggining of tvhm to just get back into Sanctuary. Dont even bother seeing Lilith or saving Roland and just get to banging on the other dlc. That really is the best way to go about leveling up in you situation. Be warned though! Some of those side quest rewards (Moxi's kitten in the tourge dlc for instance.) you may want to save until you are at max level, si discretion is advised!

I put 44 hours into one playthrough, I can barely find time to play for an hour at the moment so I think I will pass and the DLC seems the right length for me now lol. But thank you for answering my question sir.

Thanks for posting this question. I am in the exact same position. Level 34, just beat the game and boaught the season pass. I just learned, because of this thread, that I have to play TVHM to level up to 40 or 50. I am really in no mood to restart the story because of my limited gaming time. On top of that it is recomended that I get to level 50 before I play the DLC I just baught. Sound disapointing. Looks like I shuld have waited a few more paycheckd to buy the DLC.

I am correct about this?
No you are not forced, if you want to do the dlc play them.
But it's best to keep them for when you are level 50 so you get much better reward from the quest.
Or if you do the dlc, do them on the normal mode, i think the 2 first dlc should be scaled around your level so it should be good.

And for when you are level 50, if you want the best best gear you will need to redo the main story and the dlc on TVHM/PT2.5 one day or another ^^
