Borderlands 2 DLC Ultimate Vault Hunter Pack Not Installing

I recently bought Borderlands 2, as did my brother, and he gave me the Ultimate Vault Hunter DLC (He bought the Ultimate DLC by itself for $5, not the season pass) as a gift, and gave it to me through Steam Trading.

I have it in my inventory and everything, but when I try to add it to my library, it says "Requires the base game Borderlands 2 RU to be installed". Which is really strange, because I already have Borderlands 2.

When I go in-game Borderlands 2 to try and install it there, the only thing in my DLC library is the Season Pass for purchase, no other DLCs or options to install any other DLCs separately or anything.

This is really, really annoying, all I want to do is raise my level cap, and it won't let me do this even though I have the DLC already in my Steam Inventory.

Any ideas on what I should do or what I'm doing wrong here?

I have same issue, cept I get the same message when trying to purchase the DLC for myself. I do own and have installed BL2 with the three expansions.

I am in the same boat as Dr Whistler.
I own 2 copies of Borderlands 2 on 2 steam accounts and both of them say I do not own copies even though it says I do when I browse to the game, or play it for that matter. When trying to purchase the DLC it says "Your transaction failed because you are trying to buy a game that requires ownership of another game you do not currently own. Please correct the error and try again."

My support ticket thus far is unanswered.

At least I'm not the only one with this issue, hopefully this is just a glitch. At one point I did get the message that it had been added to my library already but nothing new downloaded, and nothing changed in-game.

yea today a friend got me the Ultimate Vault Hunter so i clicked on it and it also said "Requires the base game Borderlands 2 RU to be installed" i have little over60 hours in the base, i have the base game wtf is going on here?

Thanks for letting me know I'm not the only one with this issue guys, I just wish there wouldn't be this kind of a problem when you pay for something. I'd expect this kind of an issue with a F2P game or an indie title, not Borderlands 2. Let's cross our fingers and hope a patch goes through that fixes it soon.

This happens because the DLC is the Russian edition, so if you want to install but you must have the RU version, which is impossible if you are in a European country or in America .... at least without using a special program....

I find it unlikely that everyone is downloading or trying to buy the incorrect DLC, it's pretty clear that it's a glitch with Steam.

This just happened to me as well.. Apparently steam is selling russian copies of the DLC and isnt fixing it. Ive put in two tickets and its been two days and still no reply.. This is ridiculous considering when my hubs gifted it to me it didnt tell him it was russian.
