Borderlands 2 on Linux with AMD Graphics Card
I have been waiting a long time to play this on Linux and I am very happy this is now available.

However....

Looking at the requirements it says it does not currently support Intel or AMD graphics.

Was wondering if anyone is able to run this using an AMD card and if so what drivers open source, proprietary etc.

Well, since there's no linux executable yet (it won't even download the other files), I don't think anyone is able to run it at all atm. I'm using Catalyst. I will post my results here as soon as the game runs (at least lets hope it does).

I will post my results (using the open source drivers) asap, but my connection is very slow, so I guess someone else will be faster :)

Emm, it just showed a new queued update. It's 5.7 gigs. I don't know whether an executable is included in the download, but I'll keep updating this.

9.1 gigs for me, but I've a lot of dlcs, so I guess that's it :)

Cheers for this thread. My system is well under spec – Athlon64 3700+, Radeon HD 6670 (driven by mesa-10.2.8), 2GiB DDR – so I wouldn't expect it to run very well at all, but it'll be great to hear how it runs for you guys.

Well the executable is unlikely to have already rolled out for me. We'll see. It's not as if linux gaming can't wait for a few more hours or days.

It'll run on ATI. We just don't feel like the experience on ATI cards is at a level we can call supported.

Thank you for passing by the forums, Not every developer does so. I'd like to ask. Are there any logs implemented into the game?

About 5 seconds into being on the main menu?

Here's the information from Blair's post about it:
Also note, some users will see an infrequent crash to desktop from the game menus. This is due to some instability when the game is attempting to communicate with the Shift servers. Simply relaunching the game gets you back in action, and gameplay/saves/golden keys/content are NOT effected. Gearbox and Aspyr are hard at work on this, and we expect a hotfix to be out asap.

Are we talking proprietary drivers or open source drivers here?

I should also mention I am using Ubuntu 14.04 which is the recommended, let me know if anyone gets this working on another distribution :)

Just finished my download and launched the game. Except from the initial resolution aspect thingy (though it went back to normal after setting it to my resolution) it seems to be ok (didn't try actual gameplay yet). When the I got to the menu, a message box popped up, claiming that it had hound a save from the original borderlands and offered me an item. I'm go check the campaign.
