Help with the gibbed save editor
So ive been debating weather or not to download the thing but one it kinda looks shady, and two i have no idea how to use it if and when i get it. i do have a gibbed save editor for the pre sequel but it says ill have to pay a fee and that too looks shady. also i dont know how to use it so can someone help walk me through it, I know the gibbed save editor is kinda needed if you want to take this game serriouly and not have to restart the game on UVHM just to farm one weapon

this forum isn't meant for discussing third party software, sorry.

also, my advice? don't use gibbed unless it's for very specific instances. it takes the fun out of the game

Gibbed is not shady and its free but if you want to use it be sure to grab it from the official site "Rick's game stuff" grabbing it from anywhere else is a risk like it is with most 3rd party softwares

and its easy to use there are a lot of tutorials regarding Gibbed just Google them

as for "it ruins the fun" thats subjective and it depends what you use it and what you consider fun.. i personally just use it to customize / give myself weapons/items when RNG shows me the middle finger

If you have Gibbds save editor and are being asked for a fee, you don't have the real deal, it is free.

Look on youtube for tutorials on using it.

Backup your save files BEFORE you edit them in case you make a mess of them.

THINK before you edit, you can ruin the game for yourself.

If you ignore the above, please don't come here with "help I broke my game", delete the mess you made and start over. Call it a lesson learned.

You should get it from Rick's Game stuff, version 256 for this game, free.

i found it useful for dealing with bugs and glitches causing problems, or if i want to do somthing that the game doesnt have as a feature.

such at resetting the campaign entirely back to the start as it would be with a new character with a high level character for some overpowered face melting fun.

get it here, as the version on nexus is outdated: http://blog.gib.me/

THIS. BACK UP ALL OF YOUR SAVES FIRST BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING.

[whatever drive you have your operating system installed on]\Users\[your account name]\Documents\My Games\borderlands 2\willowgame\savedata

copy that folder to somwhere else before you do anything.

Yeah I'm probably only going to use the gibbed save editor to farm quest items so I can get the element I want so I don't have to restart everything just because I want an electric element on my kitten

I've seen the ricks game stuff and I'll get that one. So you said there are tutorials can you link me some of the important ones specifically how you back up your save because that's the first thing I want to know how to do

I don't get computers so you might have to walk me through how to back up the save unless you just said it and I'm dumb

is this the site to download the editor just want to double check
http://blog.gib.me/2015/10/31/borderlands-2-save-editor-revision-256/
I sometimes use it to either change parts on a weapon/item that I farmed for (especially if it was a pain-in-the-ass to get in the first place), or in the case of the "Doctor's Orders" side-quest on UVHM, reset a mission.

That is a well known North Korean malware spoof of the real thing. Best avoid it.

winrar is a archive unpacking/compressing tool not related to Gibbed by any means and yes its not free it will nag you to get a non free version
but it should unpack things just fine

this is reason why people don't use winrar anymore and use 7zip to unpack archives instead
