Game's just getting me down.. :(

Okay I have two problems, one in game, and one general, both related to The Sims 3.
1) My Sims aren't going to work anymore, they don't go automatically with the carpool, and they won't go when I click on the workplace and "command" them to go. They keep losing their jobs and I'm totally stumped as to why this is happening.
2) My boyfriend just bought me The Sims 3 Supernatural, but it's on disc rather than through Steam and I can't install it because it doesn't recognise that I have the Sims 3 installed already. Does anyone know what I can do about this? Because I might cry if I can't install the CD version :(

You can register your CD-KEYS on http://www.thesims3.com/ if you have an account, that account doubles as an Origin account so you'll have your whole collection on Origin after registering every key. that would be the only way to play with the CD version of Supernatural. You still keep your Steam version of Sims so it's basically like having the game twice but on different platforms.


As for your Sims, the game can get pretty buggy which is why using player made mods to clean it up is highly recommended.

It can be quite overwhelming at first but trust me it's easy. I recommended storyprogression, overwatch & errortrap but make sure you backup your game first because things happen. I would just start a new town to be on the safe side.

Have to say +1 to mods, I dont usually play any games with mods as you just dont know what else they do, however I can recomend those that landeros posted.

ALso they are not mods as such, more game fixes that EA just seem not to fix

It all worked out for the game, they're downloading from Origin now, THANK YOU SO MUCH.
And when they're done I'm going to look into the whole "not going to work" thing.

I had that, have you tried reset sim? it might or not work, unfortunatly I had it ages ago and have since deleted that particler family however maybe its not to late to save yours

An understatement. Even after years of patching the amount of bugs that pop up (nasty ones, too) ultimately drove me away for good.
