I just got scammed by ~Maccarena Man~ dont make the same mistake..

This guy offered me 50$ steam money and i am recently new to steam and when i saw that it said he had added 50$ for me in blue writing , i went ahead and traded my gold botkiller MK1 knife. He then deleted and blocked me. It was my most valuble item. http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198080250307 do not make the same mistake.
I know this is a pathetic attempt but if some generous ppl could donate a little stuff :( i would really appreciate it.

Did you really think it was worth $50? Didn't that seem at all suspicious to you? I don't understand how people can be tricked just by blue text.

Anyway OP, there's nothing you can do unless you have a screenshot of the chat. If you did then you could report him to SteamRep and have him marked as a scammer but sounds like you didn't keep the evidence.

i did, i saved a screenshot of the whole chat, and further more i know it was very dumb. I have sent a ticket explaining what happened and attached the screenshot. will i be able to get it back?

Not sure, Valve certainly has realized that /me can be used for scamming since they removed it in the Steam community beta, but i don't know if they'll reverse the trade... but if you have a screenshot then you should submit it to SteamRep along with a picture of the trade from your trade history

go to your inventory and click on "inventory history"

also http://steamrep.com/ is a website where you can check to see if a user has scammed in this past. in fact i just checked and the guy who scammed you is a known scammer: http://steamrep.com/search?q=76561198080250307, you probably don't need to file a report since he's already marked...

hell when i got scammed it was like a few weeks into tf2 i was in it for the game itself and when i got my first good drop a high five taunt i didnt know any better and traded it for like a dozen dirty weapon, seemed good to me since i only had other weapons and no hats yet, i look back at that as a reminder now that im in the game for hats as well: have no sympathy and be suspicious of everything said in a trade.

Damn that sucks. Lost 4 keys for me and i had 800 kills on that knife too :(
