No, really, You can't really measure skill with just K:D in TF2
Before ppl jump on me, let me explain.

In most FPSs you have kills, deaths, so K:Ds are a great metric for measuring skill.

In TF2, you have kills, and deaths, but you also have captures, defenses, destructions, dominations, revenges, headshots, and more. Just measuring on K:D alone ignores these additional things being scored - which really are provisions for a far more well rounded analysis than just k:d alone..

No one measures by that alone anyways, the scoreboard isn't based on that either...

I measure to see if my point total is greater than my deaths. I call it the TheAsianIsGamin Point-to-Death Formula of Science.

I only pay attention to K/D when I play spy.

K/D doesn't matter mostly because you don't win rounds by comparing K:D (or even on points, for that matter).

Even points are extremely imperfect. For instance, you get fewer points for killing a Gunslinger engineer outright (one) than you do for letting him spam mini-sentries, killing each one (for a point each) while letting him live. If two opposing Pyros were obsessed with point farming, they'd get more points for farming extinguishing after mass ignitions than for killing each other. And so forth.
