Team Fortress 2
Idea for sticky nerf
Just an idea. Just an idea. The stickies were un-nerfed cuz of people who play Demospam in comp wanted to spam stickies again instead of using them for thier intended purpose, ya know sneaky traps and such (and god forbid they learn how to use the nade launcher). What if, WHAT IF they brought back the sticky nerf, but it wouldn't apply in competitive games? Any thoughts on that? >casually waits for a flamewar

But that would be impossible.

Just make stickies deal less damage if they are detonated in the air.

But delete the Demoman achievement about airburst stickies as well.

The nerf affected pub games too. Since demo lost his offensive capabilities and became more defensive, the game became more defensively minded, and meant it was harder to get rid of turtling engy's and the like.
A better idea for a nerf that I heard would be to bring back the rampup, but apply to splash damage instead. That wouldn't hurt demo's offensive power, but would skill index air-dets and make it harder for spamdemos in a 1v1 scenario.
Also you have no idea how stickies were meant to be used.

Demoman is a defense class

(sigh)

Watch the dev commentary. It clearly tells you that Demo is meant to be an offensive and defensive class.

Also those ingame classifications are fairly useless. Seriously, Pyro is labelled as an offensive class, yet it's more useful in defense than offense.

Can we stop with this whole sticky thing? Yes, demos use weapons to kill people. Boo hoo. Now quit crying about it and let it die. It's been, like, 2 weeks already since the nerf. For the love of god, please just stop.
