I got an untradeable Creepy Crawly Case! Help?

I Uncrated my Untradeable crate. the item is tradeable. it is 100% safe to uncrate a untradeable creepy crawly case!

they gave me two seperate answers that negate eachother.

Anytime you combine an Untradeable item with an tradeable one the item gets stuck with untradealbe tag. Metal, paints, killstreak kits, ect ect use them on something untradeable and the item does not become tradeable. I would assume that this is the same case. Open it at your own risk. Of course you can always submit a ticket I can only assume that this is either an error or an oversight by valve.

Pretty much just that. If you decide to open that crate you would need to let them know that the crate came from trade-up.

Honestly I would just suggest waiting until you get a crate the normal way as a contract reward. I expect that contracts will work tomorrow and you will then have 2-4 attampts to get a case. If they are anything like last years cases then provided you do all 4 contracts you should end up with 1-2 cases. Valve isn't known for its swiftness in handleing tickets and odds are you won't get an unusual from that case. So unless you like what you get by the time it is made tradeable, it will be almost worthless. Remember at first cosmetics sell for a ton, shortly thereafter they tank price wise and it takes a good 3-5 months for them to start rising in price.

anything from an untradable will be untradable, anything in that crate that comes out will be untradable. Untradable isent something that can be removed from an item.

I am having the same issue, I did halloween transmute as well, and I got a case but I really don't want to waste a key on it. From reading this discussion I don't think there is enough evidence to back up either side, so I still don't know if it will be untradeable or not... but maybe I'll just try it anyways because ♥♥♥♥ it.
