All those who own the game it would be nice if everyone got a copy of the book Metro the original game is based on since we all were fans of the story in the original game.
Thanks and good luck with the game!

I don't know if everything adds up to what it says on the in game menu, but it looks nice, except for the flickering shadows that other reports of having, though with these settings i have no FPS drop
using AMD R HD 7970, AMD Phenom II 4x3.4ghz. 16GB Ram Win 7
Right now, after the small patch, the performance is pretty good and there's none of that odd hitching in framerate pre-patch. However, the shadow problems are still there. I'm about to try going to the 13.5 beta drivers.
Not a fix, but just make sure you've updated the game, and update your AMD video drivers to at least 13.4 to get rid of performance issues. The settings don't really matter since it was the patch the fixed the performance issues. But you'll want to avoid PhysX still
"I am having the same issue with my 2 560s in SLI. Going to download the new drivers(as I have the beta drivers right before said new ones) and see if it fixes this issue. Otherwise it's off to find the right file to edit.
Well the new drivers didn't work on mine. It keeps setting my settings to 1440x480 I don't know why, because my monitor is 1920x1080. So editing the game files I go. I will check back here if I am successful.

I had the same problem and found what appears to be a temporary fix, First I went to my steam Metro LL folder and opened the user.cfg set my resolution "r_res_hor 1920 r_res_vert 1080" then changed fullscreen to off "r_fullscreen off", then I went to my local\4agames\metro LL folder and deleted the user.cfg there, Now my game boots up in windowed mode at the proper resolution.'
I tried this and it did not work for me. Although I do have something else that might be the problem. The game itself is not showing up in my "Programs and Features" under the control panel. This might be the issue. The game is not even creating a folder in the "My Documents" folder. As in the only settings file that the game has created is the one in the Metro Last Light folder under \Steam\steamapps\common\ . I am hoping a deletion and a re-download will fix this issue. As I used steam's "Preload" function 2 days ago, this might have caused the issue. Every game I have downloaded has made it to the "Programs and Features" under the control panel. Most recent is the game Bioshock Infinite. Yet I have not used steam's Preload function till now and I am getting the stated issue. So either the game itself has an issue, or the preload did. I have DSL so I will not know if this has fixed anything until tomorrow. I will check back then if it has fixed this issue.
Edit: After I uninstalled the game and started the download, the game showed up on the Program and Features list. We shall see tomorrow if that fixes this issue."
The game is still not letting me save any options. That is including my video options. The spot where you change the resolution is blank. The game now shows up in my Programs and Features but I do not think that it's related to that issue. I have checked in the C:\Users\(USERNAME)\Documents\4A folder for a folder named Metro LL and there does not seem to be one. This is where the config file that the game creates is suppose to be. Yet no matter what I do the game will not create one. I have run the benchmark exe that is in the Metro Last Light folder and even set the settings to max, with the resolution at 1920x1080 and it always starts the benchmark at 1440x480. The benchmark makes a folder in the C:\Users\(USERNAME)\Documents\4A folder for last light but that doesn't help. I hope this information helps as this was a game I had been following for almost 2 years now. My computer stats are:

I have reversed all my overclocks to no avail. I hope this helps make a speedy patch. Here is to hoping.
Oh, well at least there's that. Guess I'll just continue checking back periodically.
How in the hell do I fix this?!
What did you edit to make it "work"? This looks like you got the game to come up into some sort of debug mode.
