Use this thread to report any technical issue you are having with Metro: Last Light. This centralized thread will help us to keep an overview of different issues, so that we can speed up the process of finding out what causes these issues, and help the developers with information for fixes.

The issue

What is the problem you are having? The more detailed the description, the better.

PC specs

Dxdiag reports will help the most, but not everyone wants to share that info.

Please leave your:

- Operation system (and 32-bit or 64-bit)
- CPU
- Graphics card (model and brand if you know it)
- Current driver version and other drivers you have tried
- How many displays you have connected
- What kind of connection you are using to connect your display (VGA/DVI/HDMI/some combination)
- Sound card/on-board chip type and driver version

When I launch the game a small window pops up and then I get an error that says "Metro Last Light executable has stopped working" and then the game crashes

I am on windows 7 64-bit I have an I7 950 and a Nvidia GTX660
I am running one display via HDMI connection

Does the Event Viewer mention a faulting module?

no It doesn't. I've also verified my cache and I've Deleted the local files and reinstalled, still the same problem

I have no resolution in my resolution field, game insist on running at 1440x900 at all times.
Trying to change the resolution results in exe crash.

i7 2600k
win 7 x64
EVGA gtx 580 v 320.14 beta driver.
Plugged into a insignia tv with an hdmi cable.

As for sound I've tried both my integrated (realtek) and the nvidia built in, the problem doesn't really seem to be related to sound at all though.

Rambling on through a previous thread this seems to be affecting a lot of people with similar configs to mine, it also seems to be affecting people with tv's being used as displays with HDMI. Don't know if it means anything but the situation/config seemed consistent, throughout a 15 page thread. 5xx and 6xx nvidia cards.

Launch game, starts in 1440x900 resolution instead of 1920x1080. Once I look into options to change resolution in game (resolution field is blank) and click the right arrow to increase the resolution, the game crashes to desktop immediately. Same error as Freyar above. My desktop is also resized to 1440x900 instead of the 1920x1080 that it was on before starting the game. I have to manually change it back in NVIDIA control panel.

Win7x64 running on: Q9650@3.6gHz, 8GB OCZ Titanium RAM, and dual EVGA 670 FTW 4GB SLI connected via HDMI to a 32" 1080p TV. Driver version 314.22.

Disabling SLI does nothing in my case.

...looks like we wound up reporting the same issue. Oh well, the TV part may actually be significant in this, whether multi-display or not everyone suffering seems to have a tv as a display.

I mentioned that in another thread actually. I don't think it's an HDMI issue so much as it's the way the TV's recieve/report the information. HDMI only carries information, so I don't see that as the primary issue at hand.

First time I launched the game, it booted up great. Exited out of it and now any time I launch it I just get a black screen.

The black screen is so frustrating because I was running the game great before I first exited it.

Everything is fine except for my resolution field. It's blank and click on it at all freezes the game and I have to force close it.

Having about the same problems as most. Blank resolution field in video options that make the game crash if you press the arrow anyway. Was able to start the game although it starts lagging. So I lowered the Quality... for some reason it lagged even more. Can only Change settings in the Main menu because the ingame menu is cut in half. (only the laft half appears)

I dont know if you guys care about this typ of matter but iv bin supprised once allredy today so here go's.

I suppose its no bug and u probly only care if it benfits enufe people and i no pc gamers mostly use keys and mouse.. but i do feel a little riped off as i looked into mounths b4 i got it and it says full controler support so i thort at the very least it may have lefty layout so could hipfire and at least enjoy a bit of a good story and gameplay as i have truble finding a game story i can enjoy as i play them alot and then i have to wait for next once iv made it dry. its the only thing that comes close to the standards i expct for good story (going on what i seen of it) for the whole month and its a tuff mounth for me and i relly needed a good distraction!!

So could you plz plz plz let me pick my controler layout myself and if for some resion you cant do that witch is what i need to b able to shoot and aim due to suver nerver damage could you do a tradintal lefty lay out so i can at least hipfire my way through it, as thats what i throut i was bying into at the very least!

And if this is for steam as well as the devloper could you plz support and push and suggest to older and new devlopers to do button layouts for gamepads that the gamer can set up themselfs for there old games of the past year and new ones to come.

There is a market for it its not huge but think wouldnt you rather support gamers play the way they want it, iv herd of people give up that are in a postion like me that could play if layouts let them, there are also alot of people iv heard on console who get screwed up by and dislike preset game layouts cose of the amount of games they play and isnt that a portion of the market that should b taken notice of the most!!

Shure i see no point from a bizzness point of view in acctricting xbox players but it can be used as a selling point when selling to the SONY market and for steam its self you would benafit warever they came from when used as a selling point and made a posative freedom unacsesabull to gamers any ware this is put in place

And when it come to my side of it alone iv spent thousands on games and gameing eqipment for and in many formats and will speend my whole budget wareever supports me most and when catering to masses due to the pulling of money power shurly i count as 10 votes based on what i spend maby 20 but only when looked at from a budgit point of view not cose im any better or any thing like that!

Altho you cant tell by my grammer i have a good understanding of bizzness and i ashure you that if a console releised the freedom to do button layouts it would get a portion of the market from compedatives well and truely worthy of its devolpment if it was marketed corectly and id b one and if here shurly do well enuff as well! and its no fun trying to run but knife insted is a good start to a marketing plan!

Any gamer even if not suited to you that thinks it would work in faver for devlopers and gamers plz support this

And if needed a resion think of the smaller group like me a disabled oldschool gamer who used to be a quick scoper b4 any typ of bot aim assit or hindering hipfire tool desined to make hipfire more inaceret by adjusting and lowering sensativaty only when trying to look at a targit that only some one who trys to skill it can notice! What COD you relly think no one would notice your a run around push button then push to win game that is flanted by people who understand aim assist more then its devlopers by tapping aim and sending a shot from sub each time and when you look in a kill cam of that insted of aiming it looks like they are swinging there wepion around madly up and down and all over the place!

True gamers plz support and support more freedom as well!!

Pre ordered and live in the US. I did not receive the Metro 2033 digital novel by Dmitry Glukhovsky. I checked my DLC tab and the only things showing up there are the Ranger Mode, RPK, and the Digital Comic. There also is no folder in my Last Light folder that says novel or anything of the sort.
