Linux/SteamOS empty download
Just to let you know, the Linux/SteamOS version purchased from Steam directly is an empty download.

Yeah. It's a little annoying that it shows as available to buy/play when there's nothing actually there - though I guess they did originally say it would be out on the 10th and that the Linux one would be "shortly afterwards". I've not seen any official comment since that one.

"[...]and we are happy to announce that the game will officially be launched on PC and Mac on November 10th 2016, and launched on Linux shortly afterwards"
(from http://www.motorsportmanager.com/content/motorsport-manager-release-date-and-minimum-specs )

Not sure if there's been any announcement since. The question is whether "shortly afterwards" means hours, days, weeks or months?

[edit] rogue bracket was making the link not work, sorry!

Regardless of what they say elsewhere, it has a SteamOS icon and if it isn't available then that's false advertising.

Yes - and sadly not the first time I've had this happen either.

While I can understand there's an element of human error involved in forgetting about it, we are talking about a commercial product from a business who have a big publisher. There should be people checking on things like this, and updating the community on what's going on.

Steam is also at fault, for allowing a SteamOS icon even though Steam store purchases don't have access to the Linux content.

I tweeted to the developer, emailed them directly and made forum posts, yet a day later and nothing. Their communication leaves a lot to be desired.

Hi guys,

As stated above - Mac and PC are out now and Linux will be following shortly with our first round of patches.

Hi, sorry to butt in, but ... any chance of giving a date for that?

I am an early purchaser and I game exclusively on Linux. Was so looking forward to this.

Thank you.

Right, but where is this stated on your Steam store page? It isn't.

You should not have a SteamOS icon if your game is not actually on Linux/SteamOS yet, that really is false advertising.

Edit: I've requested a refund due to this.

WOW. Link is giving 404, considering all the other info here and on the Steam Store page seems like they are actively trying to mislead people.

The link has ) at the end, remove it and it works. Besides the point though, it's not stated on Steam anywhere.

WTF? If you're not offering the game under Linux yet remove the OS icon!

You're clearly misleading the people who preordered the game because of Linux support.. I'm refunding this.

I'm just going to remove it from my wishlist. It'll be in a bundle next year at some point, I'll check again then.

This is a perfect situation to use the 'flag' button on the store page. Report it as 'Broken' for not downloading and mention that is false advertising in the 'more info' box. Devs need to learn not to lie to our faces about support.
Silas Nov 10, 2016 @ 10:33am
I've flagged it and requested a refund.

This is unaceptable. The developer come here with a straight face tell us that it was 'stated above'. What was stated was that the game have SteamOS/Linux support. It's is in the front freaking page. That's simply a lie.

I'll not only get my refund as I'll never buy anything from those guys, ever.
