We want Linux out as much as anyone else, but we can't do it at the moment.
The problem is Unity is not clamping GUI textures in the current Unity version in Linux, and when we upgraded to a more recent version, created new problems.
So we are waiting for 5.5 to be released out of beta to see if this issues are fixed.
Thanks for sharing the details. Gladly will wait a few more weeks until 5.5 will be released officially for this one! =)
Hopefully 5.5 will get all this problems sorted out.
Yes we did, GUI components are still not clamped in monitors, etc. (works in OSX and Win, just not on Linux)
There's a custom build with (only) this fix available at http://files.unity3d.com/levi/LinuxStandaloneSupport-5.2.3p3+stencilfix.zip
If you're seeing a similar issue in Unity 5.4+, I'd love to get a bug report with a build and/or a repro project.
