linux steam cloud not syncing

So I've mostly played SMB on my windows deskto. When it released on linux I tried it out and it runs great, but it isn't syncing to my windows save. I installed it on another windows pc to test and it works, so windows to windows is syncing properly but it isn't on linux. It would be great if this could be looked into as I mostly only boot Ubuntu on my laptop.
