S.P.E.C.I.A.L Build
Can anyone give me a good SPECIAL build for someone who wants good damage output with little damage intake (and Mysterious Stranger)? I'm not the best at making SPECIAL setups so it would be greatly appreciated if someone can help me out! Thanks!

You can add points to your S.P.E.C.I.A.L. as you level up. If you are asking for a starting point alotment, I think it is 21 points with 1 in each to start. You could put 7 into P.I.L. that would give you 8 in those and then add to the others for perks that you want, as you level up. It is hard to say not knowing what weapons or perks you want.

Depends on your prefered weapon.

For instance, my first character is going to be a sniper, so I did:

S- 1
P- 8 (For the Sniper and Rifleman perks)
E- 1
C- 10 (Because reasons)
I- 5
A- 2
L- 1

The basic philosophy here is to put eight points into the SPECIAL that affects your prefered weapon, and spread the rest out among other things you want.

So, if you want the Mysterious Stranger and more damage resistance then I'd recommend:

S- 1
P- 8 (Or whatever weapon type you're using)
E- 7 (For good DR and helpful perks)
C- 1
I- 5 (For good EXP gain)
A- 2 (For the Commando Perk to use automatic guns, unless you aren't using guns)
L- 4 (For Mysterious Stranger)

This character should be a good all-round fighter, but might suffer when it comes to speech and carry weight. So, watch out for that.

Really, you just need to play the game and find the SPECIAL build that suits you.

Alright thanks. I plan on using Semi-Auto rifles like the All American from Fallout:NV. Thanks for suggesting something. I'll be sure to keep it in mind! :D

No problem, have fun with whatever you choose.

Strength - pretty much useless unless you melee... 200 pounds carry weight +20 per point won't make or break you

Perception - pretty awesome - accuracy, vats accuracy, enemy detection, location detection, good perks

Endurance - pretty much ultra useless... 5 hp per point... you gain 5 on levelup anyway. no great perks... only advisable if your bad at the game

Charisma - pretty awesome... in the mid to late game... kinda useless early. Perks revolve around settlements and companions... neither of which will be in large supply until later

Intelligence - pretty awesome... 5% exp gain on quests and kills per point... with no level cap that is huge. Coupled with great energy weapon perks and hacking its a must

Agility - pretty awesome... 10 ap per point, lots of good damage perks and ap bonus perks... allows stealth crits and better sprinting

Luck - pretty good... but not until end game... % gains on finding things doesn't really matter until the things you could find are good anyway...

Thus

Start

1 s
8 p

With so much stuff available to dabble in I'm aiming to make a well rounded guy. I'm mostly trying to hit a good starting balance to my available perks right from the start.

Str: 1
Per: 4 (weaponsmith perk)
End: 3 (lifegiver perk, extra htps)
Cha: 6 (local leader for settlements)
Int: 6 (science! for advanced mod crafting)
Agi: 5 (action boy- more vats points + faster regen)
Luck: 3
