The reason we are getting CRASH on AUDIO selection!

It is the same reason LIFE IS STRANGE was bugging out.

Turn off Surround sound (disable) audio and launch the game.

Can confirm with multiple resets and disables.
The same issue with Audio Surround Sound 7.1

The game should stop crashing now and let you start the game up past the audio selection screen.

yeah but then when i play the game i can't hear anything because my headset doesn't work and i have no speakers

True it's just a workaround as to how to stop it from crashing.

The real issue needs to be solves by the game devs tbh.
I'll see if I can't find a work around.

So yeah there is nothing we can do it seems. Just have to wait for the devs to patch this in to support Surround sound.

At least we know whats causing the crash.

You can an it will work for the opening cutscene but after that the actual gameplay is muted.

Haven't had to turn off my surround sound for any episode of Life is Strange and I got it the day of Eps 1 release. Haven't tried in this game, yet, so might just be specific drivers/software related to audio/surround sound.

It was an issue with episode 4 of Life is strange for people with 5.1 and 7.1 Surround sound whatever reason on their side. Still fumbling about to figure a true workaround.

Im not playing with surround (default speakers with headset plugged into jack) and Im getting the same crash. No Surround to disable. Anyone else have the same problem?
