It would be fun seeing this.. but im afraid it wont happen. since the map cannot be modded you have to stick with the shogun map. and rome and medieval 2 had very good modding tools , something what shogun 2 total war lacked. I personally hope that rome 2 total war will support the edit campaing map again. and have little middle earth back or other cool stuff, but it will probally not be in. Maybe just some better tools than shogun 2 total.

yah it would be epic me as a diehard lotr fan but it's just not possible because of the encrypted codes and mods are limited to 100mb i heard;

This won't happen because of the copyright infringement.
Same thing happened with the Skyrim mod.

Now if they could make it, they'd have to do it unannounced and basically underground, it'd never get to steam.

Basically more hassle then it's worth, lets just hope that CA gets the licence to make one.
(The reason that Third age exists, is that it came out ages ago and there's no point putting a cease and desist on it creators as it's been distributed to a vast amount of people.)

i doubt it, lotr games are ♥♥♥♥ and they know it and theyre probably happy to have something like this thats actual quality, if the gameplay was closer to the franchise games you'd be right.. but total war is too unique

I was very sad to hear WB trying to stop the Skyrim LotR mod =( cause you know, WB wants to make a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ version instead thats all about shiney eye candy and instant gratification.

Copyright is just blocking almost every nice mod/variation on already good games. I wish they would be easier about it. Can't wait if Third Age finally does come to shogun 2

image this if it would arrive for this game lol

it will never come to shogun 2, its just too much work, and most people who did the mod work for medieval 2 wouldnt even know where to start to mod in shogun 2, shogun 2's models and animatons are much more complicated

"never say, never" as they say lol.

i think the idea is great though, with fictional character aspects comes great balancing ideas for gameplay over and above what any "historically accurate" depiction can present. war is rarely fair and balanced. Games demand it. what this TW series could do with in IMHO is that very aspect. A new fictionaly based intellectual property powerfull enough to warrant a TW series.

theyre better off waiting for rome 2.. at least then there will be the ability to use shields and one hand weapons and all that stuff thats needed.. however modeling will be even harder without making it look like crap
