No game in which player actions take a part can ever be completely historically accurate.

Instead, the Total War games occur in an historical setting with numerous events and characters which resemble events which occured or people who lived in history.

I never asked about a " completely historically accurate " I asked if it is just historical accurate, and of course as far as it is possible for a game.

Thank you for your answer.

To a point. There's a dozen historical battles for vanilla, RotS and FotS each. Also there are campaigns that start with historical factions, but from there they can go how crazy ever. And the MP is pretty much like an all-you-can-eat buffét regarding strategy, unit customization and different maps. Don't know if they're really based on anything historically accurate really.

He doesn't mean it as absolute, but you did.

And yet he asked for "Y or N ?". That's pretty absolute.

Yeah, it's a shame history (and real life in pretty much every regard) is not this black and white.

To even ask the question is to demonstrate an almost complete lack of understanding of history which is way more nuanced than the binary question asked by the OP.

In my current game i have managed to set up a final showdown between Oda and Tokugawa.
DIE ODA SCUM!!! :zealous:
it is historically accurate in terms of starting out. like play as the Oda you start with Oda Nobuhide (father of Oda Nobunaga) as your daimyo and Oda Nobunaga being son and heir by default. and such. but how you play determines if it will be historically accurate or not. if you want to try to track their every movement day by day and try to recreate that i wish you luck as the AI probably wont allow you to. so in a way yes. and in a way no.

My question was more refering to part like units, architecture, landscapes, language, factions, and as you said names of course.

I am aware that it would not be 'historical correct' in terms like moving my troops somewhere, strategy and AI acting. Or at least, only very basical historical correct.

Thanks for your answer.

since japanese at that time barely spoke english, so your language "accuracy" question is obviously out of window xD

Well, they speak Japanese in the game, but is it spoken by real Japanese? And is the slang medieval ?

Sadly, the game is not very accurate.
If you actually care about real clans, provinces, officers and historical missions/events, try Nobunaga's Ambition 14.
