Only bad thing is that game is a bit on a short side. In my first play it lasted only 121 turn until victory.
Everything else is great. Played as an Eastern Roman Empire and developers got the atmosphere just right. Invading tribes, mutinies, trecherous generals... everything is there. You can feel initial desperation of your armies in front of invading hordes. This makes every victory very satisfying. And as you slowly build your units and repel hunic hordes just when you start to believe you stand a chance - Attila arrives. Epic struggle for survival has just began.
I am playing this franchise since RTW times and this title has the best atmosphere. Huge recommendation.
Now off to install 1212 mod! :)

This game is easily the Total War game with the worst performance (even worse than the newer ones). The game also looks overwhelmingly brown and dull, I understand that these times were not great but they still had colour and that was not worth sacrificing for the sake of aesthetic or theme.

Trop punitif, les campagnes "faciles" ne le sont pas, les armées sont trop coûteuses et l'income beaucoup trop faible, la nourriture est trop rare, et l'insalubrité toujours trop forte. Bref, l'un des pires Total War de la saga...
