Controllers not working at all.

I've tried to get two controllers to work with this game - an Xbox controller and a Steam Controller - and neither have worked at all. What's going on here?

It used to wrok with my Xbox 360 controller. I haven't tried it in a long time, though.

I just booted it up, wanting to play again since it's been a couple years since my last playthrough. I'm also having this issue. My wired XBox 360 controller isn't working for movement or anything except the beginning menu selection to start the game. I tried disabling and re-enabling the controller, running as administrator, running in compatability mode for Windows 7 (since that was the OS my last laptop had when I played this) and even activating the Windows 10 game bar, since that's been known to help with other games. No dice, though.

I was very disappointed I was playing just on my laptop and I couldn't move the way I want to without my character glitching when I wasn't even directing her
