I give you a summary of my changes (missing Pierre changes):
- Replaced character name by Steam name
- Improved online matchmaking for matching party with friends
- Added a green color to your friends online to make them easier to see
- Flagged cheaters/pirates copy of the game online with a red color
- Fixed some Steam Signin issues on some computers
- Added new anticheat countermeasure
- Prepared DLCs for Kickstarter rewards (Mayor character, Grind-E, E-Deki), it concern only backers
- Various small cleanups and debugs
Nice changes
Are there plans for a journal of sorts to keep track of quests with more details?
I dunno by Pierre side but on my part i'm focusing right now on improving social features (like future party system etc)
Awesome, thanks Kaldorei, and I do want to apologize if my tone came off a bit harsh. No harm intended.
Some of these changes are really neat, such as Steam nicknames being used instead of character names. Really looking forward to further community enhancements! Thx for letting us know!
they didn't "got" banned because that takes too much effort to keep policing the game when they're busy trying to make the game more fun and enjoyable for everyone with various new features and such.
pirates aren't hurting the game as much as you think, or at least in my experience I haven't met any that have cheated and made the game unfun for me. I'd rather devs work on making the game more fun and cooler instead of wasting time trying to stop pirates who will find ways around.
Any plans to release those DLCs later down the line for non backers?
I just ask because I've never been comfortable with the idea of locking entire characters behind a kickstarter paywall (which people who come to the game late won't be able to get after the kickstarter ends if the DLCs are never released publicly at a later date)
Also what's Grind-E and E-Deki? O.o
Personally, I'd prefer if this were a toggle of some sort in the options menu. It makes character names somewhat superfluous. I am aware that the majority of players seem to prefer it this way, which is why I'm approaching this respectfully, and not making any "demands" like I occasionally see on these boards. That said, I took a quick glance at the Discord server to see what people thought of this particular change (if they had any opinions on it at all), and while the opinion is in the minority, there are a few others who weren't thrilled with the switch to Steam names.
Some people do put some genuine thought into their character names, and would prefer to be known that way. Additionally, if I wanted to add someone/have someone add me, I could just tell them my Steam name via chat. All in all though, it's a nitpick at best, so if it doesn't get addressed, it's not a dealbreaker. Ultimately, the changes made to Hover since full release have been, for the most part, positive and have helped to change my opinion of the game from the time the chip system was implemented in early access to now.
Stay classy, gamers, and a big congratulations and thanks to the dev team, for persevering and delivering a quality title in spite of the occasional surge of negativity and foolishness.
