i agree i get error messages on loading items part
I have Valmod working on single player and on my server, It works very well on 16.1
@pepino what you need to do is 1) verify your game files to clean up old files then 2) download the valmod package again, and reinstall it. i had that problem at first too I had to not install the backpack patch (i belive this is fixed now)

To play this mod can I go back in properties download the the alpha 15 build and upload this mod the same as starvation? new directory and all?

this mod has now been updated to alpha 16.2 so I'd say no that won't work.
You may be able to to find an A15 version of Valmod if that's what you're looking to do, but I'm not entirely sure why anyone would want to regress back to A15 from A16, personally. But I doubt the A16.2 compatable Valmod would run on A15, and if it did, you might find some if not all elements of A16 in it due to the mod being built for A16.

I kept my Valmod and loaded a seed/new game. I no longer have a class selection, no longer have modified skills to level and within 5 min of being in the game world, began receiving nonstop red errors about an item enhance...

So did you change the mod for 16.3 or what??

I just replaced the files with the 16.2 version of the mod and it works just like it did in 16.2. The only difference is you'll have to manually update the code within those files. Like how they increased the skill point gain for challenges(quests) - you'll have to fix those once you put the mod files in, since those have the 16.2 version.
