Mines planted by enemies I'm not 100% sure on, I haven't seen that happen.
Robots can be destroyed without ruining pacifist.
I've completed the vanilla game going 100% Pacifist + Ghost on DX difficulty. Best bet is to keep about 3-4 saves - one at the start of each area, one or two as you go through, and one right before you cross a score boundary. If you cross the score boundary and don't get the right exp reward (check a walkthrough for confirmation) then you may have inadvertently spoiled the run.
- Do glitching/jiggling bodies also die after prelonged glitching?
Destroying robots by any means, including EMP, does not lock the achievement. If a big robot self-destructs and kills someone in the blast, that's obviously another story. Probably better just to leave them alone.
Really, the best way to get Pacifist is to be very stealthy, and to bother as few enemies as possible. Fully upgrade the cloaking device and battery recharge early on, and turn off cameras and turrets at security terminals wherever possible. Do it well enough and you'll get Pacifist and Foxiest of the Hounds. Do it on Give Me Deus Ex and it's also one of the easiest ways to get that achievement.
- A Harvester that I tranq-darted did end up falling through the level geometry. I tried pulling him out but he was having none of it and just ended up sinking lower until he disappeared.
- A crazed worker wandered straigt into a mine that I did not plant. I winced there because I was sure that would definitely be what ruined it for me.
I still managed to grab 'Foxiest of Hounds' however.
Off-topic: Anyone else wierded out that all enemies were men?
Also, dragon lady was a man?
I assume this the part right after you find Sarif. I, too was concerned this would ruin my Pacifist run, but it turned out not to, at least in the non-DC version. It was planted by an enemy, even though your sound alerted him into the trap.
I actually got my pacifist/foxiest run done by being ridiculous with the amount of enemies I stunned/KO'ed. Stun grenades + gas grenades can knock out entire squads with none of them "seeing" anyone go down, and I never had any issues with the tranq rifle killing people. Though I do admit later on I got lazy and just started running through areas and shooting walls to distract enemies. It's definitely safer that way.
Anyway, at this point, if the enemy mine didn't ruin my pacifist run it was most likely the Harvester geometry-fall glitch then. That's the only other moment where I remember someone _might_ have died.
That just happened to me !
I am attempting the pacifist achievement and noticed that I killed 2 guys in D-Row and I am 100% sure those weren't lethal takedowns, but I moved the bodies quite far away.I've never paid attention to that before, assuming all my takedowns were obviously non lethal but then again I didn't know they could die while being dragged around unconscious..
Guess I'd have to start the game from the beginning again.....*sigh*
