Using Workshop with Starpoint Gemini 2
OK. So, perhaps you noticed pressing Subscribe doesn't do what you're used to. That's ok. We don't like it either and the usual elegant way will be implemented soon :).

For now, please take a look at the Modding Guide we've assembled in the Guides section to see how to use and create mods using the SG2 Mod Manager.

The game looks pretty awesome. Rivaling most top end Space Simulators from what I've seen. Very nice work. I'm actually trying to save up some money to get it today. Lol

What can the Steam Workshop be used for to mod the game with?

You can add your own ships, weapons, change stats of all weapons, shields, equipment, create missions, change avatars, sounds, music... Released workshop is, just as game, work in progress and many elements will be greatly upgraded and expanded in future updates. However, some people already used it and uploaded first mods...

Did something change earlier with the mod manager? It worked earlier yesterday but now for the past few hours when I try to use it to search for mods the blue bar fills about 90% of the way and simply stops.

Hmmm... we did have to do an update of the Mod Manager, but that was with the first update yesterday. Once more we had to adjust to the new Steam SDK version, but we tested it and it worked fine. Searching through mods via the Mod Manager can however take time depending on Steam servers. Could this be the case? That it simply takes longer?

Could be, but I left the thing running at one point for about 5~ minutes while I made my initial post here, I don't think steam was being that slow, lol. Giving it another shot now.

I had a problem with Steam earlier today while I was testing a mod (something else was the problem, but a test is not fully done until we get it up and running completely). The error I was getting in the ModManager log was Steam connectivity. Basically, Steam servers rejected my connection because they were too busy. I'm hoping this was a temporary thing and that your mod searching will work now :).

Yeah, mine wasn't throwing any errors or that, it was almost like the connection was just halting. Does seem good now, loaded the list pretty much immediately, so woo, can fetch mods again. lol

Yep. I would however suggest simply using subscribe from the workshop page. It works now, and you'll immediately see if there's any connectivity problem :).

Oh, didn't realize that was finally fixed, lol. It was still messed up yesterday when I was trying this all. I'll give the subscribe button a use from now on :P

It wasn't working yesterday? Hmmm... I'm almost sure we've implemented that particular bit a few months ago :D. ... Are we having some problems with mod subscription that we're not aware of? I hope not :S.

Please let me know how it goes!

I dunno, I click subscribe on stuff and steam never shows any kind of workshop download like it does with other games. That added to the fact most mods say "Subscribe is broken, use the mod manager" kinda made me figure it was still messed up, lol.

I'll do a wipe of all my mod-manager subscribed stuff later and try to redownload via the subscribe button and let you know.
