Please read what I posted to find out why it's not that simple. Don't just respond to my topic title.
Just going to repeat what Shadow said. If you dont want pvp then dont play it when it comes out. Simple.
Ok, and I'll repeat what I told him.... please read what I posted to find out why it's not that simple. Don't just respond to my topic title.
I'm looking forward to the future of this game, whatever the case :)
kept your PVP for MMORPG etc
Sure, 5 years or so if the game was still going strong in order to continue its lifespan even further. I'm ok with that. I just want to see the dev fulfill their vision of the game first.
The problem is your making an asumption as to how the devs would handle pvp if it was implemented..... For all we know they could implement it make it all it could be by balancing out the issues that would otherwise plauge it, from what we have seen so far of this game I'd have more faith in the devs ability to handle such a task.
I see your point, I prefer the coop aspect myself but I also see the point of ..... Don't play it I doubt the devs would let it take away from their vision of the game just to slap a crap pvp mode in for a vocal majority.
Specials may seem overly powerful to the inexperienced player, but hard counters exist for each one. Gutter runners can be completely shrugged off with a well-timed push. Packmasters are extremely flimsy and can be taken out in seconds by anybody able to aim a ranged weapon. Globadiers will likely recieve a hefty cooldown, and are extremely vulnerable during their throwing animation/stumble easily. Ogre rats cannot hit anyone who can time dodges correctly.
The only potential problem is the Ratling Gunner, in all honesty.
Many people enjoyed Left 4 Dead's versus because it spiced up gameplay. Adding a similar mode to Vermintide draws in those players and extends longevity for those already owning the game. Worst case scenario, you don't have to play it if you don't like it, as others have said.
Surprisingly, co-op PVP is still co-op. It just amps up the challenge for the heroes.
