Don't worry, I've missed caves thinking the same ♥♥♥♥. I've also had some really dumb moments where I'm running around looking for a cave entrance and it turns out to be a trapdoor on the ground. And due to my actively searching for a cave entrance I entirely miss the damn thing for several hours.
This game has the potential to frustrate but I honestly would not have it any other way. Spoonfeeding gets boring so quickly.
He is correct. I just looted the Pontius chest then destroyed it. It dropped another set of loot. I guess the secret of the chest was secret compartments.
All secrets and treasure maps that are sold are just the same things you can find on your own if you walk by with a high enough perception.
