Secret of the Black Cove Pirates
I've got the secret marker on my map, but when I go to the location it says, I don't find anything. I bought the map from the secret teller in the homestead. Any clues?

It's very disappointing. I just found out this particular 'secret' is just the pirate pontius's chest :/ which i looted after i killed him, so the map was a waste of 4k gold. I'll just leave this: It's in the Black Cove lower levels on the ship where you fight pirate Pontius
Maps doenst work :(
What general area is the cove in? I just started in luculla forest. I keep seeing posts about the cove, and sorta assumed it would be in the cyseal region, near the water somewhere. but I never came across it. did I miss it? or does it come up later?

It's the Black Cove on the southern beach, with a group of orcs guarding the entrance.
So it was in the cyseal area? and by south beach, you mean the one in which you first come in on?

no the one left from cyseal harbor
Lmao I feel really dumb. I had killed all those orcs and failed to notice the massive skull/cave they were guarding. thought they were just hanging out on the beach. you know. barbecuing some legionaires. Chilling.

Though the skull was just like they're mount rushmore.
aha, if you destroy the chest it drops more items.

Don't worry, I've missed caves thinking the same ♥♥♥♥. I've also had some really dumb moments where I'm running around looking for a cave entrance and it turns out to be a trapdoor on the ground. And due to my actively searching for a cave entrance I entirely miss the damn thing for several hours.

This game has the potential to frustrate but I honestly would not have it any other way. Spoonfeeding gets boring so quickly.

He is correct. I just looted the Pontius chest then destroyed it. It dropped another set of loot. I guess the secret of the chest was secret compartments.
I confirm - just returned to the Black Cove and destroyed the chest, got loot.

All secrets and treasure maps that are sold are just the same things you can find on your own if you walk by with a high enough perception.
