What's Your Most Depressing Death?

So on my first play through, I proudly made it straight to day 35 with only a few close calls. I was nearing that point where literally it would take some stupid misstep for me to die.

So what happens? I was staring at my icebox and crockpot for what I wanted to do..and it went dark. And I could reach the campfire in time...I knew it was dusk time, it's why I was there..noobie mistake I know. >_<

Amazing how hard it can be to hit something in total darkness though hahah.

Clearly my most depressing death, cause it was my first. Though I do think it'll go down as my most depressing until I do finally starve.

Oh man, there have been a few pretty depressing deaths... Probably most depressing was one similar to yours.

It was getting dark and I was in my camp already, picking berries and sticks. I made a piece of rope to chuck in the fire pit but waited a second too long and the screen went dark and I couldn't find the fire pit to place the rope. Frantically, I went to make a torch but making that piece of rope used the last of my grass. Unable to make a torch, campfire, or locate my fire pit, I died miserably in the dark on ~day 65. Such a bummer because I had made it my #1 priority to have fire materials on me at all times. Ugh!

Mine is probably where i abttled a bunch of spiders, got wailed on. Running across the swamp didn't see i only had like 5% left on my helmet. Got triple teamed by tentacles 3:

Though I've heard of people getting killed by frogs…

Running withour armor near a 1 or 2 square swamp and getting killed by a tentacle -.-

i technically died since i was uilding wall segments and got stuck between them and can no londer move so i guess that counts as losing everything, i just got an alchemy engine too ;_;

Why not just hold control and attack the walls and free yourself? You can even attack it without any tools or weapons.

i was running to my fire once as it was dusk and as i got to my fire it when dark and i coulden't actually find my fire pit, so i ran round for about 10 seconds clicking everywhere whilst gettting attacked by something, i died in the end

After kiling a spider queen as widow i had like 2 hp i then ate a dragon fruit and got my hp to about 70 i lived in a pig village i put the spider hat on and then they killed me.
Although i was just more depresed that i was screwed because there like ten spiner nests near my village of four pig and after i found out they would attack me i just let them :P

got cocky mid-game and decided to harass some hounds... really shouldn't have destroyed that nearby pig village.

Day 38 I was getting coal by burning down trees so I could make something, I think it was a crock pot, I'm not sure. Then my friend started to chat with me on google+ and I forgot to pause the game. I don't even know how I died.

Treant (or whatever they may be called) spawned like two minutes into the start of a new game I made, after deciding in the previous one to assault a ring of spider nests armed with only torches and dying (that was actually fun). Anyways, I spent the better part of Day 1 attempting to fell the beast with just an axe. I noticed the tool nearly broken and thought 'Wow, these things are annoying without a spear' right before I failed to dodge the final blow. I consider it my most depressing death simply because of how much effort I'd put into fighting the thing, only to lose.
