Cutscenes...
I thought it would be AWESOME if they added a few cutscenes to the game that look like the trailers (Like for when Wilson finds Maxwell in the Epilogue etc.)

Did you put up the same discussion twice?
Also, aren't there already cutscenes? (exp:spawning in world, taking over nightmare throne, etc)

No, perhaps someone else posted this; And that cutscene is a little non-theatrical to be considered a cutscene in my opinion.

Not all games need them. Bioshock 1 did an awesome job of it.

The whole 8attle thing is 8ased on decision 8ased cutscenes....
J20Hawkz 6 lutego 2014 o 14:26
Huh? So that means every game where a particular situation that involves you standing still and making a decision to press A or B is a cutscene?
Unodus 6 lutego 2014 o 14:27
No... 8attling...
Yknow, "go 8ul8asaur!
use vine whip", etc
Every time you use a move, it has a little cutscene

It's called battle animations, almost every game has them. Exodus you are destroying everything I know about games.......I don't think we are discussing those 'little cutscenes' here mate. We are talking about the following type of cutscenes.

"A cutscene or event scene (sometimes in-game cinematic or in-game movie) is a sequence in a video game over which the player has no or only limited control, breaking up the gameplay and used to advance the plot, strengthen the main character's development, introduce characters, and provide background information, atmosphere, dialogue, and clues. Cutscenes often feature "on the fly" rendering, using the gameplay graphics to create scripted events."

Oh?
Then 8y that definition, then pokemon definitely uses 8attle cutscenes.
"which the player has no or only limited control, breaking up the gameplay and used to advance the plot, strengthen the main character's development, introduce characters, and provide background information, atmosphere, dialogue, and clues."
This proves that the animation, is in fact, a cutscene.
You have no control during it
It advances the game/plot
It develops who your characters are (evolution and such)
It provides atmosphere, dialogue and 8ackground information.
So, 8y your logic....
You have only proven your argument invalid!

But we are not talking about "those" sort of cutscenes. At the end of the day. Going back to the topic of this thread. Personally Don't Starve does a great job of keeping the game flowing. This isn't a story driven game as such even though there is a very puzzling story behind it. I prefer it how it is. A fast paced survival horror game. Cutscenes will only slow the pace of the game down, essentially giving the player time to breathe/relax. The way it is now, keeps us edgy, tense and always keeping that thrill/excitement present to stay alive.
