Trading items between Styx and Arkail?

I might be missing something, but am I really not able to trade gained items between Styx and Arkai or is there some undocumented magic button / maneuver to do that?

All items are restricted to either Styx or Arkail. They cannot exchange item because they cannot use those of the other one.

PS. Always swap characters when talking to a merchant because you only see items for your active character.
