Leaderboard Clean-up...

OK,

So I've seen a few dodgy leaderboard scores that I've removed, I'm not hugely keen on naughty cheaters spamming the boards.

But some I'm not entirely sure are legit, so I need some help.

What I'd like to do is form a player committee of three top players. If someone suspects a score is suspect, the three people vote on it and if two out of three agree it's suspect, I'll weild the leaderboard wipe hammer and purge that users scores... And their rating.

But... that only works if the three people are trusted. This is where you come in. Over the course of next week can you organise youselves to give me that list of the top three people you trust.

There are two simple rules...

1. Anyone who wants to be part of the group needs to be a willing participant and volunteer in this thread. I'm not forcing anyone to do this :P

2. You need to have a (legitimate) top ten score on more than one track to be eligible, as you can't judge this unless you are very much aware of what is achievable and what is not!

I'll leave you to work out the rest, mostly as I'm on holiday next week and so won't be here to mediate!

If it descends into farce, then I'll chuck the whole idea and it'll be me being judge, jury and rating executionor, but I'd rather we did it in a more democratic way...!

Note this is not open season for loads of people going 'Player X is cheating' - this is the chance to get involved and agree on who you trust to then say 'I think Player X is cheating' too but abide by their review and decision...

For purposes of consistency, we should get each person to vote for two players, but if you want to suggest someone else that's not in the list, feel free to. We'll then pick the top three results.

Of course, if any of the above players don't want in on it, just say so, no one is forcing you to do this.

Sounds like a great plan. I would like to volunteer myself for the matchmaking ratings as they are also filled with cheaters.

I actually already started compiling a list of the what I believe to be the top ten times on each track, I just have to finish the last 5 maps. There are however some times I'm not sure of because I have either not raced these people online or these specific ghosts. Perhaps I can share the list with the above mentioned names and we can come to a better conclusion together.

Edit: my votes would go to Xenn and Epona, though I trust any of those names mentioned. Also I'd trust Neeku, perhpas his name should be added.
And I'd trust Flamiex for matchmaking, you have my support.

But as it's not only TA leaderboards that need clean up but also matchmaking and even GP being plagued by the cheaters lately, my votes go to

as I believe they're the most active top players when it comes to matchmaking.

If we are talking GP's as well it might be best two have two commitees, if that's ok with SOL.

Maybe 3 people to watch TA boards, and 3 people to watch MM and GP's. Seems like a lot of work for someone to watch them all.

I personally don't play GP's much, and I'm not one of the top MM players either. So if we are talking all boards I'm not the best person for the job.
