How does one do this?
In a lobby (multiplayer), a player has a nick like xxxxx and xxxxx (2) and xxxxx (3). How? It's clearly done by one person.

If they have a (#) next to their name, it means they are playing splitscreen online.

Basically more people playing from the same computer, splitscreen

So, it's one Steam account, utilized by more than one person, playing a single copy of Sonic using splitscreen, correct?

That makes sense for the nick then. Though mostly, even when I am not a decent player (bad), only one of those people usually good. The other one / two are beyond bad.

Yeah, playing splitscreen with controllers most likely.

And they probably have younger siblings playing.
