Hi guys, Izmar here, new community manager for Bandai Namco EU. Nice to meet you all! I just wanted to step in very quickly and say that right now, we haven't officially announced anything about the subject of a discount. I'm not sure who PCGamer's source is, but it seems like they could be someone who isn't in the loop about what's going on, RE: discounts.

Okay maybe so, but the fact that u have to use DSfix to be able to even select the game rendering resolution says a lot.

Not arguing against that, it was a very bareboney port.

If it's anything like the DS2 remaster they'll probably just sell it for a full $50-60 & maybe have an upgrade option priced at $30 for people who bought the original.

the ds2 version wasnt a remaster. it also contained all 3 dlcs at its base. also changed enemy/item placement on top. that is not what remasters do.

I don't have my hopes up high for this, but it would be nice if they did. Escpecially since I just bought DS:Prepare to DIe a few weeks ago. :\

Nope. I hope they do a proper job though.

We might get a discount but for free? Definately not, I hope that they'll do a good job with this one, since the first port was rather horrible

If it's only going to be $40 dollars at launch, that leads me to believe that it'll just be a visual and performance upgrade over the original game. Good. The gameplay is one thing that Dark Souls doesn't need updated.
It's confirmed that current owners of Dark Souls 1 will get a 50% discount on the remaster.
