Episode 3 glitch. Broken glass

I'm stuck at the part where you're supposed to look at the broken glass and find the "x" in chalk on the wall but the prompt won't show up. I tried playing it 5 times and it won't show up. I've talked to everyone and it still won't show up. I got the gate and it just lets me look at the gate but not at the chalk on the floor. Unistalling and reinstalling does not help either. I tried validating game files and i'm still having the same problem.

Have you tried talking to everyone? Kenny's wife gives the clue about the glass, after which you should be able to pick the peice up and move on to next clue.

I figured it out. I'm playing with a keyboard and there's an option for inspect and interact. you have to press 2 and click on the broken glass for it to bring up the x on the wall.
