Attacking
Hey all - I am new to this game. I've searched the manual and I can't find any instructions on how to either attack or cast spells in the game. What am I missing?

Right click on the weapons in hand. If you just check the TUTORIAL option in the menu...
I still would really appreciate hotkeys for attacking and particularly magic. I liked playing the game, but that was actually something that put me off quite a bit.

They could even call it easy-mode or something.

I'll have to second you on that. I love this game so far, but the UI is sooo clunky. If it just remembered the last spell I used would make a huge difference... And also this tile-by-tile movement...damn, most of the times the difficult fights are difficult because of the UI not the enemy.

It's oldschool dude, those things cannot be changed. Once uppon a time we used to draw the maps.

You’re not missing anything; the game is missing hotkeys for attacks.

Old school… I remember playing games like Ultima (not online) and Wasteland before a mouse was considered an expected peripheral. Trust me, nothing “easy mode” about it.

No buy from me without combat hotkey support devs…

Yes. How to attack wasn't made super clear in the tutorial.

Didn't figure the attack from tutorial too. It could be easily done, left mouse - left hand, right mouse - right hand of currently active character. And some button to switch between characters. I wish developers read the forums because this game looks really cool and with handy controlls it would be even better.

I actually liked the game as is, controls and all it was a throw back to games like Eye of the Beholder and DM the style of game that was sorely lacking in this generation of games that seem to all have "Call of" in the title or are some version of that game. It actually took me a lot longer to get through this game then I thought it would. I found getting use to the controls a bit of a challenge but I got use to it now combat is a breeze.

It's stated on the second page of the tutorial. There it says:
Left click on a item to pick it up from the slot and right click to attack with the item.

Yeah, hotkeys for attacking would be really useful, but that's why the game is a bit challenging: you have to select the runes to cast your spell while dodging your enemy and attacking with your other party members, healing and making potions as fast as you can... and be sure to not be trapped by the mobs x)

Haha, yeah; the tension can get pretty thick at times.
I like it.

My favorite thing is the included graph paper you can print out to draw your own maps. The way it's meant to be.

The game is great, the difficulty lies exactly on the way you move and attack.

I stopped playing for a while so my progress has slowed, but I was happy to see a skill for the Rogue that benefits hitting enemies from behind.
I was trying to do that from the beginning (thinking I could bypass shields and stuff) but wasn't noticing any damage increase, so I'm looking forward to increasing that area of expertise.

Just searching for how to attack...

putting the explanation THERE was so dumb, I'm not going to comment on it, BUT
one would think
ATTACK would be important enough to deserve its OWN SENTENCE!
:) :) :)
