When first loaded, the game launched to a black screen. I have a 25:16 widescreen monitor with a native resolution of 1440x900. The game launched under 1600x900. Since it launched to a black screen, I could not fix it in game. Additionally, there seems to be no external configuration tool.
If something similar happens to you (this is in Windows Vista, so some translation may be required), open "regedit" and go to hkey_current_user/software/arkane/dishonored and edit "ResX" and "ResY" to a supported resolution . Keep in mind that these are hexadecimal values, so crunch those numbers.
Further analysis has shown that the 1600x900 resolution does in fact work for the desktop, and presumably anything else. I have no idea why the game, my driver, or whatever would not support it in this specific situation. I'm running a Radeon HD 5500 series card with the latest Catalyst driver.
EDIT: I tried the Vista fix on my copy of Windows 7 and it totally worked, thanks so much!
Is this throughout the game or just the first part/cutscenes? Cuz theres bars at the start no matter what res your at but then it returns to full screen
It is throughout the game. Not just in the cutscenes. hell, in cutscenes the borders gets even thicker. I've tried every resolution available, tried going to windowed mode and back. This is the only game i have with this odd behaviour
