Unable to change Resolution
I seem to have an unusual problem (can't find anything similar via searching at least).

The game defaults my resolution to 1600x900, which puts some pretty distracting black bars on my 1920x1080 screen. When i try to adjust the resolution to my native (or anything else for that matter). the game CTDs. Here's a few things i've tried that haven't worked:

-Setting resx and resy in the engine.ini
-Run as admin and in compatibility for xp sp3
-Resintalled the game to my C: drive
-set the -w and -h in the launch options
-run -windowed in launch (still CTDs when i try to change the res)
-Reinstalled Nvidia driver w/ Clean install

I'd be very grateful for any other suggestions.

Edit:
Forgot to add computer specs:
intel i5-2500k
Nvidia GTX 580
8GB Ram

I have a similar setup, but no problems with resolution changes on my end. Try nVidia drivers v301.42 - works flawlessly for me. Maybe reinstall/update DirectX as well...

Core i7 @ 3GHz
nVidia GTX570 SLI
6GB Triple Channel DDR3
nVidia ForceWare v301.42

I had a similar problem. Hopefully my solution works for you.

When first loaded, the game launched to a black screen. I have a 25:16 widescreen monitor with a native resolution of 1440x900. The game launched under 1600x900. Since it launched to a black screen, I could not fix it in game. Additionally, there seems to be no external configuration tool.

If something similar happens to you (this is in Windows Vista, so some translation may be required), open "regedit" and go to hkey_current_user/software/arkane/dishonored and edit "ResX" and "ResY" to a supported resolution . Keep in mind that these are hexadecimal values, so crunch those numbers.

Further analysis has shown that the 1600x900 resolution does in fact work for the desktop, and presumably anything else. I have no idea why the game, my driver, or whatever would not support it in this specific situation. I'm running a Radeon HD 5500 series card with the latest Catalyst driver.

I'm now having the exact same issue with the DLC. How has this not been fixed?

EDIT: I tried the Vista fix on my copy of Windows 7 and it totally worked, thanks so much!

It is throughout the game. Not just in the cutscenes. hell, in cutscenes the borders gets even thicker. I've tried every resolution available, tried going to windowed mode and back. This is the only game i have with this odd behaviour
